Valentine’s day is just around the corner and for us who are trying to conceive, we want to make it extra special. There are a lot of ways you can spice up your Valentines day. You can go cheap or you can splurge.

You can take the day off of work and make all day special or you can choose to just focus on making the night romantic. Whatever you do, make sure you follow the ideas below to spice up you V-day.

So, what are the ways to celebrate Valentines Day when you are trying to conceive?

Plan Ahead

Candle lit dinner, picnic by the fireplace or dining at your favorite restaurant. You can do anything as long as you plan ahead of time. Shop for the things you need a week before if you plan to cook a delightful dinner or reserve a table for two at your favorite restaurant.

Dress the Part

Men are visual so how you look on V-day will set the mood. Wear pink top or a red dress to catch your man’s eyes. Curl your hair and wear your red lipstick. And of course for after hour’s outfit, Check out Victoria’s Secret. Also, do not forget to show some skin but do not overdo it. Just focus on one area, it can be the neckline, bust or legs. It will make you look sexy.

Give Him a Card

Get him a V-day card or better yet create your own card. Fill it with a heartfelt message or with a poem you created. If you wanna go all out, you can buy him a gift as well. But make sure you don’t forget the card.

Talk to Him

During dinner, strike up a good conversation. Tell him how much you appreciate him for being a good husband during this trying times. Specify the things that you appreciate the most. Share your fondest memories with each other.  And of course, tell him how much you love him.

Get a Room

This is part of planning ahead. If you plan to spend the day at home, make sure you set the ambiance of the room. Declutter, organize, change the sheets and light some candles. If you plan to stay in a hotel, make the reservations ahead of time.

Netflix and Chill

If you are spending the romantic night at home, make sure you already picked out the movie you plan to watch(not that you are gonna pay attention to it). But you don’t want to waste time browsing. Time is of the essence.

Add Some Cocktail

And of course, don’t forget the booze. But, the plan is not to drink until you drop.

Go Fifty Shades Darker

If going out is a part of your plan, this is the perfect time to check out the movie, Fifty Shades Darker. It will definitely set the mood before you head to your hotel.

Give Each Other Massage

Massage has many benefits, it relieves stress, relaxes the body and mind and sets the mood as well. Can it be more special if your hubby is the one giving you the massage?Hmmm.

Snuggle after Sex

This is the most important part of the date night that you planned. This is where you just savor the love and feel loved. It does not only make you feel good but it also deepens the relationship.

Valentine’s day only comes once a year so you want to make it special. Take a break from your hectic schedule and from the stress of infertility. Take this time to focus on the love you have for each other and to reflect on the things that would deepen your relationship.

I know that when dealing with infertility, having sex is for the sole purpose of making a baby. But with special days like Valentine’s day, make it day free from baby-making purpose to a day of just making love. You got to keep the fire burning.
